New Feature: Machine Owners Can Now Request Telematics Service Renewal

Scheduled for Apr 3, 08:00 - 08:01 CEST

Scheduled

**Feature Description**

With this Maintenance, we will start to roll out a new feature to our Telematics DataPlatform that enhances the experience for Machine Owners and OEMs.
Until now, Machine Owners were not informed when the telematics service for their machines was about to expire due to the end of the hosting contract between the OEM and Proemion. With this new update, Machine Owners will now receive notifications about upcoming contract expiration and have the opportunity to submit a request to the OEM for the renewal of their telematics service.

**How It Works**

- Machine Owners will be displayed a notification banner when the telematics service for their machine is nearing its expiration. (See https://docs.proemion.com/docs/dataportal/master_data_panel/)
- A "Request Renewal" button will be available for Machine Owners to submit a renewal request directly to the OEM.
- The OEM will see these renewal requests in their contract overview and can contact the Machine Owner regarding a possible extension.
- The OEM can proceed with the contract renewal with Proemion through the existing contract renewal function on DataPlatform. (See https://docs.proemion.com/docs/dataportal/contracts/#renew-contract)
- Machines with renewal requests will be included in the contract end notification summary email, too. (See https://docs.proemion.com/docs/dataportal/contracts/#contract-end-notification)

**Benefits of This Feature**

- Extended Service for Machine Owners: Ensures uninterrupted telematics service, potentially for the entire machine lifespan.
- Prolonged Data Availability: OEMs will continue receiving data from renewed machines, improving their long-term analytics.
- Increased Value for MOs and Dealers: More service options, including maintenance tickets, contributing to a better overall experience.
- Enhanced OEM-MO Connection: Strengthens the relationship between Machine Owners and OEMs by streamlining service renewal communications.
- Better OEM Insights: OEMs can gain a clearer understanding of how their Machine Owners are using telematics services.
- More Telematics Revenue for OEMs: Increased renewal rates ensure a continuous revenue stream from telematics services.

This new functionality is designed to improve transparency, communication, and service continuity for all stakeholders. We look forward to supporting Machine Owners and OEMs with this valuable enhancement.
